You’re worth exceptional care.
We’re here to provide it.
At Myrtle Mental Health, we’re here to empower you to take an active role in your healthcare journey. While medication can be beneficial for some mental health conditions, it’s just one part of a comprehensive treatment plan. We also encourage you to embrace non-pharmacological options, such as optimized nutrition, regular exercise, and, when appropriate, therapy. By incorporating these lifestyle habits, you can strengthen both your mental and physical well-being. We’ll support you every step of the way as you build a foundation for lasting wellness.
Insurance Information
Myrtle Mental Health now partners with Headway, a trusted third-party billing platform, to make it easier for patients to use their insurance. Through Headway, our psychiatric providers are currently in-network with Cigna, Aetna, Carelon, and Quest Behavioral Health, with more major insurers coming soon. Headway only bills insurance for psychiatric services. Rates for nutrition therapy with our Registered Dietician can be found here.
If you have one of these plans and would like to see if you’re covered, please call or message us—we’ll be happy to help you get set up. Patients who prefer not to use Headway, or whose plans are not yet accepted, may still self-pay and request a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Follow-up Perinatal (during pregnancy and 1 year postpartum) Psychiatric Appointment
Why Are Perinatal Follow-Up Appointments More Frequent?
During pregnancy, both the body and brain undergo rapid and complex changes that can significantly impact mental health. Because of these fast-moving shifts, perinatal follow-up appointments need to be more frequent than standard psychiatric visits.
Why is this necessary?
Hormonal and physiological changes: Pregnancy-related hormone fluctuations can cause mood shifts, anxiety, or depression to develop or worsen quickly. More frequent check-ins allow us to monitor and adjust treatment as needed.
Medication adjustments: If medication is part of your treatment plan, careful monitoring is essential to ensure safety for both you and your baby. Pregnancy can affect how medications are metabolized, requiring dose adjustments or alternative options. During pregnancy, the amount of fluid (blood volume) can increase by 40-50% compared to a non-pregnant state, which greatly affects the level of medication in your body.
Lab work and safety checks: Some psychiatric medications require regular lab monitoring, and pregnancy can influence lab values, making more frequent testing necessary.
Postpartum preparation: The risk of mood and anxiety disorders increases significantly after childbirth. Regular appointments help us proactively plan for postpartum care, reducing the risk of severe postpartum depression or anxiety.
At Myrtle Mental Health, we prioritize your well-being by providing thorough, compassionate care throughout pregnancy and beyond. More frequent appointments ensure that your treatment remains safe, effective, and responsive to the rapid changes happening during this critical time.

Submitting claims for reimbursement
Myrtle Mental Health provides a service to check out-of-network reimbursement rates called Reimbursify. Reimbursify is a secure, user-friendly platform that allows patients to easily submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement. Since we’ve partnered directly with Reimbursify, there is no cost to you for using their service to submit your claim.
After each visit, we can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt with all the necessary information for insurance submission. With Reimbursify, you can file a claim in just a few minutes through their app or website. Since our practice is registered with Reimbursify, your provider’s information will be automatically pre-filled, saving you time and reducing the risk of errors or delays.
Most patients with commercial insurance plans are eligible for partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. Reimbursify helps streamline the process, tracks your claim status, and provides updates or instructions if your insurer requests additional information.
